The site and the dashboard are one and the same
The complete operating system for the Davis Chamber of Commerce. insights apps replaced the rented SaaS with software the Chamber owns: members, billing, events and the public site, in a single app.
- Next.js · Supabase
- QuickBooks
- Resend · Twilio
- Custom CMS
The starting point
They were renting the softwareand their data lived inside it.
The Chamber ran on a SaaS that charged for everything and kept the database on the other side. The audit measured the real size: 3,364 contacts, 388 active memberships, 22,255 emails, 50 events and 76 open invoices totaling $48,000.
The request was straightforward: replace it with a system of their own, with their data and no monthly license. The work that was spread across the SaaS, WordPress, spreadsheets and QuickBooks moves to a single place.
What makes it different
Add an event and the site updates itself.
At most chambers, an event gets entered in one place and someone copies it to the website by hand. Here the dashboard and the public site are the same application: whatever staff publishes shows up on the calendar instantly, with no webmaster in between.
Staff dashboard
Someone at the Chamber enters the event just once.

The six fronts
Member CRM and memberships
Onboarding from start to finish, statuses, tiers and renewals. 3,364 contacts and 388 active memberships migrated from the previous system.
Billing mirrored in QuickBooks
An invoice issued in the dashboard shows up in the books, with no double data entry.
Events with QR check-in
From creating the event to the front door: registration, attendance and reporting, with no spreadsheet in between.
Email and SMS from your own domain
Resend and Twilio connected, with lists and unsubscribes honored on every send.
Member portal and public directory
Members see their own account; the public sees the Shop Local directory and the calendar, always up to date.
Site CMS, editable by staff
Site pages are edited from the same dashboard, with no code and no waiting on a third party.

Status
Software built and deployed, with the September 24 gala as the deadline that drives everything. What's holding things up isn't code but operations: the email list bounces above the threshold and the verification has to be paid for, QuickBooks isn't connected yet, the member portal is built but empty, and invoices without a due date stall the late-payment cron job.
